BIOGRAPHY
André Godinho is a sound designer, foley artist, audio engineer and musician with a passion for creative audio. His strengths are in the creation and implementation of sound and music for a particular purpose whether it be for game, film or visual and interactive media.
In 2019, he graduated from Universidade Lusófona with a Bachelor's degree in Sound Science and Technology where he focussed on creative sound design and audio production for film and game.
From there, he started to participate in projects in collaboration with other university colleagues. In addition, he also participated in other projects outside the university that are described in my CV and Portfolio.
His skills range from creative audio production to innovative and technical sound design. André’s abilities include technical sound design, foley and field recording, sound engineering, audio manipulation and commercial-level post-production mixing and mastering. In addition, with my music background, I also have musical skills that go through music production and the art of DJing.
In 2021, I worked as a Foley Artist on Richard Waters' film "Bring Out The Fear", which has been featured in several film festivals such as the IFI HORRORTHON 2021 in Dublin, the Screamfest Horror Film Festival in Los Angeles and the FrightFest Film Festival in London. And it won the "Best Feature" award at The Dark Hedges International Film Festival 2021 in Dublin and "Best Sound" and "Best Edition" at the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA).

In 2022, I finished a Master's degree in Musical Arts at the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. I did a Master's internship at a Sound Post Production company, Digital Mix. After that, I wrote a thesis about Audio Branding, to complete the master's degree, where I got a grade of 17.
Now, I currently work as a Sound Designer & Sound Recording at Sintagma.

MY SKILLS
SOUND DESIGN
The art and practice of creating sound tracks for a variety of needs. It involves specifying, acquiring or creating auditory elements using audio production techniques and tools.
FOLEY ARTIST
I recreate sounds for movies, videos, and other media in post-production to improve audio quality. I substitute sounds that can't be recorded correctly on set.
SOUND ENGINEERING
As they say: "To the average listener: no matter how great the band, if the sound engineer sucks, the band sucks."
So I have a responsibility to make an artist sound good during a live performance.
ACOUSTIC ENGINEERING
Is the branch of engineering dealing with sound and vibration. It includes the application of acoustics, the science of sound and vibration, in technology. A acoustical engineer are typically concerned with the design, analysis and control of sound.
FIELD RECORDING
It's everything that involves recording sound outside of a recording studio and the term applies to recordings of both natural and human-produced sounds.

I gained this taste when I was taking a degree in Sound and since then this area has fascinated me for the beauty of the sounds I can record, whether with a sound recorder or a contact microphone.
BOOM OPERATOR
A key member of the production audio crew in the film and television industries, the boom operator assists the production sound mixer on set by operating boom microphones, selecting and placing radio microphones, and maintaining the audio equipment
MUSICIAN / MUSIC PRODUCTION
I had musical training, in addition to theory, I learned to play acoustic guitar and electric guitar. And I'm still self-taught with the practice of piano, keyboards and synthesizers.

It's been a while since I discovered this love for the art of "DJing" and I'm totally addicted to mixing music and make people happy.
